Guest review: “Beautiful Swedish inspired lodge overlooking a peaceful and tranquil lake. Lovely place for relaxing and taking things easy. Within a short drive of lovely Falmouth which has a great selection of shops, places to eat and beaches. The place was warm and snug and was very comfortable. Very simple and stylish it had everything you need. The kitchen was well equipped and although small had enough space for us to cook a decent meal. Super place, would definitely recommend.
Would ideally suit a family of four as the mezzanine bedroom is suitable for children (although not young children as the ladder is quite steep). We were five adults so was quite snug but as a family we like being close to each other. There was a beautiful lake walk, a lodge and laundry facilities . All in all a very special place. We would definitely return. Thank you Selina and Jason. we had an amazing time. You are great hosts.” – Maria

Guest review: “We had such a relaxing and enjoyable 4 night stay at Ross & Daniel’s lovely ground floor apartment. Just what we needed. From the moment we booked the apartment, checking in, throughout our whole stay and right up until check out, Ross & Daniel were so so welcoming, friendly, thoughtful & helpful. They clearly love what they do. They really did make us feel so valued and made our stay such a personal experience.
Freshly baked scones delivered to our apartment was fantastic! These two lovely guys are by far the best hosts we’ve had. When we left, it felt like we were saying bye to friends, despite only knowing them for 4 days. The apartment was spotless and so comfortable. Had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Bed was super comfy and we slept so well! The apartment was very stylish and modern, with a lovely boutique feel to it.
The location was perfect for us, right in the centre of the village and within strolling distance to all the pubs, shops, restaurants & cafes. Despite being close to the harbour and a small street running alongside the apartment windows, the noise was negligible and there was no need to use the ear plugs provided.
The parking permit was an added bonus (we’ve not had this with some of the other places we’ve stayed in, within Mevagissey), with the allocated parking only short 5 minute walk towards the end of harbour wall. I would most certainly recommend The Pilchard Press to couples looking for a relaxing getaway in the beautiful Mevagissey. We both hope to be able to stay again in the future!” – Andrew, September 2020

It was very clean and well stocked with pretty much everything you could need (for coffee lovers there is a cafetiere – so bring some ground coffee with you). We also had a wonderful afternoon tea ready for when we arrived, if you’re thinking about it I would recommend adding this on as it was fantastic – best scones we had!
We used the barn as a base to explore a fair bit of Cornwall, it was our first visit so had a lot of things on our list. Pretty much everything is in relatively easy reach, we made it down as far as Penzance one day. There are also some well-mapped walks on the farm, we did a little stomp down to the river through the woodland which was really nice.
The hot tub in the garden was great to have, the stove takes a fair bit of getting used to (if, like us, you’re not used to wood burners!) but Steve very kindly helped us get it going – and gave us some tips. Once you get the hang of it it’s very easy to do! If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat from daily life or a lovely base to explore Cornwall and Devon I couldn’t recommend Lower Marsh Farm more, we will be back” – Jess, October 2020
